I Took A Fitness Dance Class
Spoiler alert, I am not a dancer. A dance class with zero reviews wouldn’t typically be my first choice, but I am open to trying new things. My favorite workout friend as of late invited me to do some sort of aerobic dance class with her, so naturally I said yes.
After all, it would be a nice change of pace from the boxing class we love so much. Here’s how the class was described on the ClassPass app:
“This class alternates between choreographed dance sections and short strength intervals, putting your muscle and cardio endurance to the test! We methodically break down each step to make sure you learn the entire dance by the end of the class. Burn out every muscle and leave feeling elated after this high-energy interval workout.”
My First Dance Class
We showed up and promptly got checked in and shown to the studio. The instructor was sweet and energetic, and if you pictured the perfect cardio dance instructor she would be it.
Only a few people showed up to the class which was ideal because I wasn’t really in the mood to embarrass myself in front of a large group of people. The lights were dim and a lively playlist boomed over the speakers.
For the next hour we gyrated hips, shimmied shoulders, and flailed our arms to the beat. The strength training aspect was interesting because we did movements I hadn’t done in other classes. There was a lot of pulsing and hip thrusting going on, which I enjoyed.
ClassPass Review
If I had to perform the choreographed dance moves that I learned this morning in order to get to the next level of Squid Games, I would surely die. I’d probably even take everyone else out with me.
I am not a dancer, but I had fun missing steps and accidentally kicking left while everyone else kicked right. I felt my muscles burn while twisting a towel behind my back and in the air while sprawled on the floor. I was dripping sweat and sliding in it while frantically lunging and rolling my hips in the wrong direction.
Something weird happened after. I left an honest review about my experience and even ventured to say I would visit again. Imagine that!
